I help people make collective decisions across long horizons informed by deep research into histories of housing, land, and technology.
Currently at Komma, a collective building rituals, practices, and tools to forge relational economies. The first of these is Meld, a tool stack for bridging ownership into commons structures through joyful everyday actions.
At Komma, we work with governments, philanthropy, citizen groups and organisations through advisory roles, artistic enquiry, research and technology co-development.
My research since 2013 has been funded by institutions such as the Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust, the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, Power to Change, the Laudes Foundation, and Just Open Source.
I've spent over a decade leading projects and helping organisations to get started from a position of strength. I co-founded Transition by Design, an action research architecture practice working on low-energy and citizen-led housing, and Cohohub, a regional agency for collaborative housing in the UK. Most recently I co-founded Oasa, the first land conservancy powered by decentralised technology; I led the Civic Tech Studio at Dark Matter Labs and I'm doing a PhD in Urban Planning.
